NoShoSto presents: First Page Competition (part of Leeds Lit Fest)

4th March 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

£5

First Page Competition, Wednesday 4th March, 6.00

“Grab ‘em with your first sentence!”

If your short story or novel demands to be heard, our First Page Competition could be the place for you. Your first page is crucial if you want to grab the attention of a time-strapped editor or agent.

Whether you write horror, sci-fi, or literary fiction, make your opening snag our judges’ attention, and you could be our first ever First Page winner.

Entrants will read the first six hundred words of their novel or short story in front of an audience, and an expert panel of judges who will be authors and experts. Nobody will go home empty handed. Every single entrant to the First Page Competition will receive a short piece of constructive, personalised feedback on the night which will help them improve their work for the better.

Judges include Richard Smyth, S.K. Perry, and Cherie Taylor Battiste.

6.00 – 7.30, Wednesday 4th March, Wharf Chambers*. Book here.

A small number of contestants’ slots are now available for pre-booking. To book, please email northernshortstoryfestival@gmail.com

* Wharf Chambers is a members club, and you must be a member to attend an event here. Joining costs £1 and takes a minimum of 48 hours to take effect. To join, see www.wharfchambers.org/membership/
